Story

1920s

Felicia Starewicz brought her Old World recipes in her heart when she immigrated from Poland to Chicago, where she became a Buscia. Buscia, pronounced Boo-sha, means grandmother in Polish. She passed down her love of cooking to her family & is the inspiration for our company.

2009

Midwestern Culinary Arts teacher Sarah Starewicz grew up noshing on Bacon Buns, buttery buns stuffed with crispy bacon & sizzling onion. On a summer off, she started a booth at Chicagoland markets & festivals, named it Buscia’s, & sold out again & again. Sarah dreamed of serving Bacon Buns to people everywhere so she moved to NYC to learn how.

Today

Sarah still gets calls from people about her Bacon Buns, so she got to work at a commercial kitchen in Brooklyn, handcrafting them for delivery to your door! Buscia’s uses real, pure ingredients, just like Buscia did in her day. She also would have never let anyone go hungry in her kitchen, so Buscia’s donates 5% of net sales to Food Bank for New York City, who is ending hunger by feeding children, teens, and adults & by teaching them to shop & cook on a budget.
